VPN – If you have a VPN enabled on the phone or Fire TV the VPN must be temporarily disabled for the troubleshooting to complete successfully. The troubleshooting screen in the phone app keeps failing. Then press the refresh button to update the troubleshooting results. If the troubleshooting ends in failure then select the Force Start menu option while in the troubleshoot section. Open the Mouse Toggle app on the phone then navigate to the troubleshoot section. This issue also occurs with a real hardware mouse. The Fire TV 3 and Fire TV Cube have a bug that affects the mouse position unless the display settings are set to 1080p 50Hz. I have a Fire TV 3, or a Fire TV Cube and the mouse coordinates are off. The troubleshoot section in the phone app will also find and resolve common issues. Also verify the status in the lower left corner says started. Please verify that you are pressing the ‘play / pause’ button 2 times quickly(300ms). Please toggle the ‘ADB Debugging’ setting(Settings – Device – Developer options) on the Fire TV off and then on again. The app states the network connection has timed out.
